Return of the pods, people!

If the escape pods from an offshore oilrig can help the crew

escape a dire situation, surely they could provide a good night’s sleep

to a weary traveller?

While trying to find a boat to live and work in, Dutch architect and

reclaimed materials artist Denis Oudendjk, discovered some unused pods

selling for a reasonable price.

His experience was so pleasant that he purchased a few more, decked

out the insides to make them even more comfortable and opened up Capsule

Hotel in the Netherlands. For around AU$80 a night you can have your

own private escape from the world, equipped with a hammock and fishing

net.
