Was a big night for Footy with the Wallabies playing USA in World Cup qualifier and Brisbane Broncos playing Manly in the Prelim Final not to mention a few Rotarian's partaking in a few quite Ales.
Yamanto Tavern was the venue for our first evening function for Ipswich City Rotary under the new President Peter's year.
The night started with a taste of Queensland a brew made from Qld Lemon Mertyle, Macadamia Nuts and infused with QLD honey, brewed by Baccus Brewing at Capalaba. The beer was accompanied by Pork Balls with a sweet dipping sauce to bring out the flavours of the beer. After a few brews we were all charged and ready for a few lashes, 150 Lashes from James Squire that is.
The night got worse for Broncos, better for Wallabies and excellent for us when we were able to sample the famous Ipswich brew by local brewer Wade Curtis from Four Hearts Brewing. It was a rich American style Pale Ale which was rounded off with a platter of fruit cake to once again bring out the flavours of the beer. All three craft beers were exceptional which was great testament to the Craft Beer Industry that you can get a beer with flavour, and even better one brewed locally.
It was a great Craft Beer tasting night with a big thanks to Yamanto Taven and Peter from Yamanto Tavern for putting on the event just for us
