Nuts to you!

Did you know that a good handful of nuts a week can help reduce potential for heart attack?
(Harvard study 2006)

And they are full of protein, antioxidants, fibre, vitamins and minerals.

So instead of biscuits or chocolate snack today - grab some raw, unsalted nuts or a swipe of nut butter on your crackers.

The only exception is peanuts - not recommended - but that's for another post.

Have a great day, smile lots :D)) and and snack well!

  • Boris Bozic·Does one need to do the same thing with other kinds of nuts? I tried soaking cashews once, and the result was, umm, suboptimal :)

  • Leeanne Holland Naturopath @ Naturalee ·Nuts without skins such as macadamias, cashews or brazil nuts don't create as much of the murky water residue, but soaking is still recommended for ease in blending and for nutritional purposes. 20 mins soak max should be sufficient. Those making 'mousse' or other raw food recipes with cashew nuts would find the soaking beneficial.
