Co-ordinating Italian Committee is holding the GALA ITALIANA on 21st July, 2012 at the Ridley Centre, Adelaide Showground, 6.30pm for 7pm.
Following on from the success of the Italian Gala in 2011, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy in 1861, the Co-ordinating Italian Committee is holding the GALA ITALIANA on 21st July, 2012 at the Ridley Centre, Adelaide Showground, 6.30pm for 7pm.
It is envisaged that the GALA ITALIANA will become an annual event.
On the menu is a five course Italian meal with beverages, dancing to the stylish sounds of The James Brothers, main and silent auctions, raffle, fun and revelry in puro stile italiano. Never let it be said that the Italians do not know how to party! Funds raised on this important evening will go to Lillies for Leukaemia and the Co-ordinating Italian Committee.
We are pleased to announce that the GALA ITALIANA will take place in the presence of His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, The Governor of South Australia and Mrs Liz Scarce, Patron of Lillies for Leukaemia.
Special guest is fashion designer Jayson Brunsdon from Sydney. After working in London and New York, Jayson returned to Australia and launched his own label in 2004. His creations are stocked in some of the world’s most prestigious stores such as Saks Fifth Ave, Nieman Marcus and Selfridges. The Jayson Brunsdon label is available in 45 MYER stores nationally including the Designer Collection, Black Label Collection, Home Collection and Accessories Line.
“A modern twist on classic elegance and sophisticated femininity form the recurring themes to my work. The label appeals to women who take an emotive pleasure in a feeling for retro glamour with a whiff of whimsical post-modern chic” says Jayson.
He takes his inspiration from many sources, particularly iconic Hollywood images – Audrey Hepburn, for example, and for his Spring Summer 2012 Collection, Marilyn Monroe has been placed on a pedestal. Many famous people including our own Australian Princess Mary of Denmark wear his creations.
There are still places available for the GALA ITALIANA - $145 per head and why not get friends, family and colleagues together for a table of 10?
MC: Kelly Noble – from SA’s on-line lifestyle electronic publication, Glam Adelaide
Chef: Michael Cabaj - formerly of The Burj Al Arab, Dubai and The Grand Hotel, Glenelg
Auctioneer: Tom Hector - Winner ‘07 Schools’ Auction Idol Competition, Harris Real Estate
The GALA ITALIANA promises to be a memorable and fun night, supporting two great charities – Lillies for Leukaemia through the Royal Adelaide Hospital Research Fund and the Co-ordinating Italian Committee which continues to do such sterling work in our community tending to elderly citizens, chiefly those with Italian heritage.
